Why “The Ambiguities”?
“So,
what happened next, Uncle Ted?” Now,
another Ted is the nephew, and this Ted is the uncle. “What happened next with Uncle Albert?”
“The best answer to that is ‘hmmmm.’ The story ends with ‘Get your keys.’
“All true-life stories end with
something like that: ‘Oh . . . boy.’ ‘See
you tomorrow.’ ‘Get your keys.’”
The epic begins in medias res. Stories in
life, however epic or trivial, end
there.
