Fourth Sunday
The
preacher didn’t mention the Old Testament lesson this morning . . . with good
reason: it’s a mess.
Because Solomon is a mess; his wisdom
cannot have included common sense. Why
God held him close and threw poor Saul away is beyond my feeble understanding.
